The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me!

I have decided to begin a new journey in my life and that includes letting you get to know me in ways maybe you didn’t know me before. I have been through tons of ups and downs, that has lead me to this decision of blogging about it all. Some of it may be good, some of it may be bad, but most of it will be extremely raw and possibly emotional. I have never done this so be prepared to see lots of mistakes and honestly there may be some cuss words thrown out there as well. Most of you who will be reading this will more than likely be my friends and family so you know me. Well, you know the part of me I let you know. So with that this first post will be just an introduction of who I am, where I came from, and maybe a few extra information tossed up in here for your entertainment.

My name is Ashley, surprising right because my blog name is no where near that name. Raelee Grace, is the name of the little girl my husband and I were planning to have in between my two beautiful, wild little boys I now have. Raelee Grace also holds a special meaning to me. My mom’s middle name was Rae, and my granny’s name is Lucie. I combined the two names and BAM, Raelee was created. Grace was my nickname growing up, mainly because my friend’s mom thought I was like Grace from that show Will and Grace. It kind of stuck because I am also not the most graceful girl you would meet either. So this is kind of a tribute blog to multiple people in my life and has a lot of meaning to me.

Okay, so now that all that makes sense. Let’s explain my life. I am a wife to a wonderful husband named Shawn, who served 24 years in the service. He is my rock, and has been with me through some of my lowest and highest times of my entire life. I couldn’t have asked for a better husband to love me the way he does, even when I am not very lovable. Together we have four children. Two of them are from a previous marriage and live with their mother. We have a beautiful, intelligent, responsible 18 year old, a 15 year old that is into softball and enjoying her high school life to the fullest. My husband and I share two amazingly wild, crazy, hilarious, smart and absolutely disgusting little boys. (haha) Hunter, who is our oldest boy is 9 years old, going on 18. I mean I didn’t even know you could be so grown at 9 years old. Fischer, is 6 and I have told him he is not allowed to age past 6 years old because he is hilarious and wild and such a young frat boy. Lawd, help us in their teenage years.

Currently, we are living in Charleston, South Carolina need I say more? We love it here and who wouldn’t, well besides the bugs and heat but that is besides the point. Over the years we have lived in Florida, South Carolina,California, Florida, and South Carolina once more….we don’t venture far from the South because lets be honest I wouldn’t survive in the North. I am a true Floridian who freezes anytime the weather is below 70 but I also hate the heat above 80. I’m complicated, don’t judge me.

To sum up this possibly messy long blog post, I also work as a teacher assistant in a Kindergarten class with 21 amazing little people. Some days I feel like I am going to go crazy but most days I absolutely love every single part of this job. The kids are hilarious, and wonderfully curious in all things and I love seeing the wonder they have while learning new things.

I have no idea what my next post will be about but I am sure it will be just as informational about myself or my family as I have started out. Until next time…Thanks for reading.
